A Classic Southern Wedding at the Taylor-Grady House

June 22, 2024

The Venue

The Taylor-Grady House, a wedding venue located in Athens, GA, is a stunning antebellum mansion and a treasured piece of Athens’ history. Built in 1844, this stately home stands as a testament to the grandeur of Southern architecture. With its sweeping verandas, intricate moldings, and beautiful gardens, the house offers a picturesque setting that feels both romantic and intimate.

From the moment you step onto the Taylor-Grady House grounds, you’re enveloped in its classic Southern charm. The mansion’s graceful columns and lush lawns create a serene atmosphere that is perfect for a summer wedding. The venue’s spacious outdoor areas are ideal for ceremonies under the open sky, while the interior rooms offer elegant settings for cocktail hours and intimate gatherings.

The Flowers

The incredible florals were designed by Always in Bloom Florist! The white roses complimented the classic, elegant vibe of the venue. The blue hydrangeas were the perfect way to tie in Caroline’s wedding colors cohesively throughout the venue, both in her bouquets and in all of the floral arrangements adorning the ceremony site and the reception tables! Lyndsey was one of the sweetest florists I’ve ever had the privilege of working with and I will always recommend her to my brides!!

The Music

The music was provided by Cannon Phillips with Sound Insight Pro! I have worked with many DJs in the past but rarely do I ever see a DJ that can keep people on the dance floor ALL. NIGHT. But that is exactly what Cannon did! His personality is infectious and his mixes kept people dancing, laughing, and having fun until the very end! HIGHLY recommend him for any of your music needs!!

The Dress

Caroline’s dress is from I Do, I Do Bridal in Athens, Georgia! I have photographed many brides wearing many styles from this shop, and they are always gorgeous, and I mean ALWAYS. This one was no exception. I am a sucker for simple, yet elegant dresses and that is exactly how I would describe Caroline’s. The strapless, satin dress had the most beautiful, simple train with buttons all the way down. It matched the elegance of her venue to a T. She paired it with a simple, cathedral length veil with a satin edge that flowed with her dress. She was such a beautiful bride!!

The Cake

The cake was provided by none other than Publix! The two-layered, custom design was antique and intricate. It was as pretty as it was delicious! Best of all, it was marble flavored – the best of both worlds!

The Coordinator

I had the privilege of working alongside Kristen Curles with White Fox Events. Not only was she organized with the schedule and contacting vendors, she was also super sweet and helpful. I never felt rushed or like anything was behind or wrong when Kristen was around! Highly recommend her for any coordinating needs you might have!

The Food

Catering was provided by Epting Events. From the cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres to the delicious southern-inspired dinner, everything was delicious and the presentation was so classy!

The Exit

Calvin and Caroline opted to have an exit consisting of metallic pom-poms with small lights and foam glow sticks to make a colorful and shiny backdrop to their exit photos! They also changed into white and black bride and groom sweat suits to top it off! They drove off into their forever in a black mustang to officially end the night!

It was an absolutely beautiful day that I had the absolute privilege of capturing.

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Koslowsky!
